Dengue fever is most common in Bangladesh during the monsoon season. This year, however, it has extended to this month as well. Hundreds of dengue patients are being treated in hospitals. We held a program for our sponsored children to educate them on the causes, symptoms, and treatment of dengue fever due to the severity of the situation.
Dengue typically reproduces in stagnant water and in a dirtied environment. The accumulation of rainwater during the monsoon season is one of the primary causes of an increase in dengue cases. Understanding the causes of dengue mosquito reproduction can aid in prevention. Our sponsored children took part in the program and learned how to prevent dengue fever and what to do if someone becomes infected. They also raised awareness about it in their community.
