International Mother Language Day, 2024

On February 21, Bangladesh observes National Martyrs' Day. This day is observed to remember and honor those who sacrificed their lives for the Bengali language in 1952. That day was designated as International Mother Language Day by UNESCO in 1999. Today, people all across the world celebrate this day to promote multilingualism and increase awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity.

Our sponsored children took part in the day's events alongside our team. After learning about the significance of the day, they went to Shahid Minar, a monument honoring the language movement's martyrs, to lay flowers in remembrance of them.
