Community Cleaning to Prevent Dengue
Dengue fever has recently spread throughout Bangladesh. The volume of patients is overwhelming hospitals. This happens every year during this season. The stagnant water from the rains and dirty environment make perfect breeding grounds for the dengue mosquitoes. Especially in slums, where the environment is very unhygienic.
In this situation, teaching our children how to protect themselves and prevent the spread of dengue is important. Keeping our surroundings clean is one of the most important ways to avoid the spread of Dengue. Our sponsored children took the initiative and cleaned their neighborhoods to clear the dengue mosquito breeding areas. They worked in groups and divided areas among themselves.
