Playing chess is known to increase cognitive abilities. This is not only a fun game to enjoy with friends but also increases concentration, ability to think strategically, ability to be calm under pressure, and so on. So, we held a chess-playing event for our sponsored children. They learned the names of the chess pieces and the rules of the game. Then they had some practice in pairs.
Some of the sponsored children had only heard about chess but never played it. They were very enthusiastic to learn about it. They had a lot of fun learning a new game.
